Scuttlelicious 0.2 Released - Support Posting of Private and Shared with Watch List Bookmarks

Submitted by kai on Tue, 2006-01-03 01:22. ::

I've upgraded Scuttlelicious to version 0.2 for Firefox 1.5:

Change:

  • Added the ability to set the privacy level of the bookmark being posted under the page info tab and save the bookmarking privacy level preference under the login tab. This works with scuttle.org. Please download latest codes (specifically, api/posts_add.php) from Scuttle if you run your own copy of Scuttle.
  • The following statement is out-dated because the Scuttle's developer has applied my patch to the source tree.
    • Note that this feature only works if for people having their own patched copy of Scuttle because Scuttle's developers haven't apply my patch to Scuttle's API. You can download the patched file here. You need to save it as "posts_add.php" and put it in the api directory under your Scuttle installation directory. Make sure the file is readable by your web server.

Why I released this version within one day of my previous release:

  • Because of the restructure of the folder layout in previous version, I could debug this extension without re-installing the extension file and restarting Firefox. That's why I could make and test changes quickly and released it much sooner.

This makes it so easy to get off del.icio.us and host my own links. Tks so much! Keep up the good work!

How would I go about editing this extension for my own scuttle installation?
Thanks!
SHuai

Hi! I have a problem with this plugin. Everytime I start my computer and try to add a bookmark it ask me for the username and password even if I check to remember the password.

In Firefox, go to Tools->options->passwords->view saved passwords, remove any line that contains chrome://deliciouspost/ or chrome://Scuttlelicious/. Then uninstall the extension. Restart Firefox. Re-install the extenstion. Restart Firefox and try again.

If that doesn't work, create a new profile. Start Firefox to use that profile, and try to install and run the extension. This procedure is to test if the problem is profile-related.
